According to Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia, James and Christianna emigrated to America from Ireland in about 1765, landing at Yamacraw near Savannah, Georgia. They settled on McIntosh Creek, 8 miles from Waynesboro in Burke County. They lived there till James's death in 1775, which was the result of his arm being crushed in a grist-mill. | ||||
